The country’s communications regulator has announced improvements to the Broadband Fund to protect against internet and cellphone outages.
The CRTC says that pool allows federal, provincial and territorial governments to connect rural, remote and Indigenous communities.
To date, it has helped improve high-speed internet and cell service in more than 320 communities.
The Broadband Fund is now supporting projects that reduce the risk and impact of outages. The CRTC is accepting funding applications until October 15th.
