A section of Pitts Memorial Drive, one of the busiest thoroughfares in metro, will be shut down for the entire Thanksgiving weekend.
The highway will be closed in both directions – from Heavy Tree Road to the Bay Bulls overpass – from Friday evening to mid-day Monday.
The closure is to allow for a culvert replacement as part of an ongoing construction project.
The provincial government says a full closure of the road will allow the work to be done more safely and efficiently, “significantly” reducing the duration of any traffic disruptions.
