A 26-year-old from Pasadena is facing multiple charges after fleeing from police while under the influence early this morning.
At around 1:10 a.m., staff at a business in the downtown area of Corner Brook reported a person had consumed a number of alcoholic drinks and left the business driving an SUV.
The driver was identified as a resident of Pasadena.
Then about thirty minutes later, RNC officers noticed the vehicle driving east on the TCH near Steady Brook. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver chose not to stop and sped away quickly at a speed exceeding 150 km/h.
Police did not pursue the vehicle.
Minutes later, just before 2:00 a.m., RNC located the vehicle parked at a home in Pasadena. The driver was then located inside and arrested without incident.
The 26-year-old was charged with impaired driving, flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
He received a 90-day driving suspension and his vehicle was impounded. He will appear in Provincial Court in September.
