A fundraiser that helps keep the families of sick kids close by is still going ahead despite the COVID-19 pandemic and the Ronald McDonald House needs help now more than ever.
Director of Development and Communications Christine Morgan says that September is when the Red Shoe Crew Walk for Families usually takes place but this year, it is a month-long and more accessible online.
September is also special for them because it is the month that they opened their doors, says Morgan.
The walk helps raise the necessary funds for programs for families and sick children.
Morgan says every step counts when it comes to the walk each year.
She says they have had to cancel some fundraising events and all of their in-house volunteer programs, so they need the public’s help more than ever.
Morgan shares that people can walk where they want and when they want in the month of September online or with a pledge sheet. She says it is easy to get started.
