The MHA for Corner Brook is seeking answers on when a family care team will be established in the west coast city.

Jim Parsons says the promised family care team was scheduled to open two months ago, and patients were called for intake interviews last fall, yet the clinic has yet to open.

That’s leading to questions about whether or not the facility will open at all.

Parsons sought answers from Health Minister Lela Evans.

Minister Evans says “there was a rush to roll out so many family care teams without taking into consideration the resources and the needs in the region.” 

She claims that a lot of the announcements were made “for the sake of announcements…we have huge leases, big empty buildings, but I am committed to staffing and resourcing the existing family care teams.
