A Bell Island woman landed in hot water after she struck a house attempting to dodge a police checkpoint.
RCMP were holding a traffic checkpoint on Davidson Avenue, on Tuesday, when they saw a van drawing near. Police say the 35-year-old woman attempted to avoid the checkpoint, but ended up colliding with a nearby home.
To make matters worse, two young children inside the van were not properly secured, and the woman had an expired licence.
The vehicle and home sustained minor damage. While the driver was ticketed for a number of offences.
