A teen is facing a list of weapons related offences after police descended on Mount Pearl yesterday.

The young man was taken into custody without incident after police cordoned off an area on Spruce Avenue early yesterday afternoon.

RNC responded after receiving a complaint of a concerning nature, the details of which are part of an ongoing investigation.

The young man is facing a number of charges including unauthorized storage of a firearm, unsafe storage of a firearm, and breach of a court order.

The route was closed for public safety, and residents were advised to remain indoors for some time. Armed officers and the K-9 unit fanned out to conduct their investigation.

The neighbourhood was all but silent as police took the man into custody, and re-opened the road.
