St. John’s residents looking to update their parking permits with the city will have to do so by phone.

Starting Monday, July 27, residents are asked to call 311 or the city (754-2489) to renew, but only during the designated week for each parking area due to the anticipated number of calls.

New permits will then be mailed, and tickets will not be issued during July and August to those waiting for their new permit.

Parking enforcement will resume ticketing in September.

Call-by-area dates:

Area 1: July 27 to 31
Area 2 & 3: August 4 to 7
Area 9 & 10: August 10 to 14
All other Areas: August 17 to 21
