The construction taking place on the Trans Canada Highway near the Foxtrap Access Road is causing slowdowns as drivers head back to the city after the long weekend.
Drivers in the eastbound lane say to expect at least an extra 30 minutes added onto the usual trip this afternoon.
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure says bridge repairs are ongoing.
According to callers to the VOCM Newsroom, the zipper merge is not being used and is creating a bottleneck that is causing further slowdowns.
Use caution in the area.
