Finance Minister Siobhan Coady says the government will be seeking another three months of interim supply to keep government funded when the House opens on Monday.
She described it as “the normal process” under the circumstances, but someone forgot to tell PC Leader Ches Crosbie.
Asked whether his party would support the request, he didn’t mince words:
“I’ve heard that they want three months of interim supply and that’s not on. For one thing, it’s gonna take nowhere near three months to get through the budget so it’s simply a nonsensical request. It’s going to be something much shorter than that. And so, yes interim supply, but it’s going to be closely negotiated and we’re not going to give them three months, I can guarantee that. That’s a final NO, yes.” – Ches Crosbie
NDP Leader Alison Coffin similarly said it’s unlikely she will support another three months of interim supply.
