A person who was involved in the fishing industry for 70 years says a corporate sale in the offing in Newfoundland and Labrador amounts to giving away a natural resource.
Royal Greenland, which is owned by Denmark, has passed the first hurdle to acquiring Quinlan Brothers. That would make it the largest fish company in the province.
An arms-length agency has approved the sale, but the provincial government has yet to do so.
