A young woman was caught zipping down a highway on the west coast last night at a very high speed.
The RNC clocked her at 151 km/h at around 9:00 on the Trans Canada Highway near Exit 7 (Riverside Drive exit.)
The 20-year-old, who is from St. John’s, was charged with speeding in excess of 51 km/h over the speed limit and driving without due care and attention. Her driver’s license has been suspended for seven days.
Meanwhile, police in Corner Brook have charged a man with being impaired by drug.
The RNC stopped the 55-year-old near Mount Bernard Avenue early this morning. The Port aux Basques resident has been charged with possession of cocaine, three breaches of court orders, and impaired driving. He remains in custody until a court hearing today.
