A 31-year-old woman has been charged with arson following a house fire in Riverhead on Monday.
Police say shortly before 9 a.m. they received reports of a woman smashing out windows at a home on Main Street, indicating that she had set fire to the house. The blaze was contained to a small area of the home.
Police arrested the woman and have charged her with arson and mischief (damage to property) over $5,000.
She will appear in court in the new year.
Arson at Dominion Pier

Meanwhile, RCMP on Bell Island are investigating a case of arson at the Dominion Pier.
They say sometime between the evening of October 5 and the morning of October 6, a bus that was converted into a camper was set on fire. A boat, which was out of the water at the time, was also damaged.
