The company interested in buying the Come By Chance oil refinery says it does not require any government money to acquire the refinery but would need support post-transaction.
Origin International says it has a plan to put the refinery back in production by next summer. They see Come By Chance as an ideal fit for their company profile. They would co-process waste oils, bio waste, and crude oil.
Nicholas Myerson, the CEO, says they are concerned about environmental liabilities at the site but it’s not something to which they can attach a dollar value as they have not been given access to any such information.
He says, theoretically if there were a transaction, they would not be looking for support outside the scope of existing government programs.
