A local company focused on creating collaborative engineering software has big plans for its latest project.
CoLab was recently announced as one of the recipients of funding from Canada’s Ocean Supercluster, which they will use to help create the CoLab Enterprise Project.
That project aims to create software that can be used on complex engineering projects, allowing thousands of people to work together in real-time.
CEO and co-founder Adam Keating has big aspirations for the project, hoping it will one day become the standard in the industry.
He explains that big projects are driven by a unified approach, but due to there being so many different modelling programs that’s just not possible.
Their hope is to have a system whereby 50 companies using different tools could work together and never know the difference.
Keating visualizes a hub where projects can start and users can share, edit, and work together on projects.
