Premier Andrew Furey is pointing to telemedicine and eHealth as a way to address some of the gaps in health care delivery in the province.
The Liberal Leader says the pandemic forced many medical professionals to shift to eHealth and telemedicine for health care delivery and he recognizes the immediate need for innovative health care.
Furey says expanding eHealth and telemedicine services reduced travel time and costs and improves access to services—especially in rural parts of the province.
He’s vowing to invest in technology and IT training to support digital health care service delivery in the province.
To achieve this innovative approach to health care, we will invest in technology & IT training, including on-site IT support to enable digital health care service delivery – ensuring that more Newfoundlanders and Labradorians have access to necessary, vital health services. pic.twitter.com/8cfUIN0mlI
