NDP Leader Alison Coffin says she was surprised by the issues former Corner Brook candidate Graham Downey-Sutton raised as reasons why he decided to resign from the campaign.
Downey-Sutton took to Facebook this week with a lengthy video outlining his issues with the campaign and the party leader.
Coffin says the reasons he gave for stepping down were very different from those he shared on Facebook and on VOCM Open Line.
She says he told her he had urgent family issues and she thanked him for the work he had done during his campaign.
Meanwhile, Coffin is campaigning in Labrador today.
She is campaigning with Amy Norman in Happy Valley-Goose Bay this morning and then flies to Lab West to join incumbent MHA Jordan Brown on the hustings.
The NDP’s Labrador policy platform will be announced early this afternoon.
