Public health officials are reporting one new confirmed case of COVID-19 connected to Marine Atlantic’s Blue Puttees. The man in his 60s in the Central Health region is self-isolating.
It follows a positive case involving a crew member reported to provincial officials by Public Health in Nova Scotia. There are now two cases directly connected to the vessel.
Marine Atlantic confirms the latest case is a crewman on the same shift as the previously infected employee.

Marine Atlantic spokesperson Darrell Mercer says the two affected crew members came into contact in the course of their shift.
The Blue Puttees remains out of service for the time being while other crew members await their test results.
The Atlantic Vision is being put on the run this evening and will remain in service until they get more test results and make decisions based on those results.
Anyone who was a passenger on board the Blue Puttees between Tuesday, December 29 and Saturday, January 16 is asked to arrange for COVID testing.

All passengers are being asked to continue to monitor for symptoms for a full 14 days from the time of their arrival.
Newfoundland and Labrador is reporting six active cases, with one person remaining in hospital.
A total of 384 people have recovered from the virus in this province, and 77,273 people have been tested.
