NDP Leader Alison Coffin says her party is committed to changing the Medical Transportation Assistance Program so that families don’t pay the airfare upfront to attend necessary medical appointments.
Coffin was in Labrador West yesterday campaigning with incumbent NDP candidate Jordan Brown.
She says people in Labrador are tired of governments that keep treating the region as an afterthought.
Under the current system, Labradorians are expected to cover the cost of travel for medical appointments upfront and wait for reimbursement.
Coffin says her party will fight for the people in Labrador West to “get the services they deserve.”
