Viral memes of frozen US Senator Bernie Sanders at the presidential inauguration have inspired a couple of local knitting companies.

The photo of Sanders, arms and legs crossed and wearing thick mittens, has been shared around the world.

The viral phenomenon has even sparked a delighted response from the Senator himself.

Morgan Tobin, the volunteer and activity coordinator with the St. John’s Farmers’ Market, says copies of the now-famous mittens will be available for sale at the Farmers’ Market this weekend.

She says they have two knitting vendors: Smittens by Andrea and Recycled Threading. Recycled Threading will be on-site at the Farmer’s Market selling mitts similar to those worn by Sanders.
