One person was taken into custody following an ongoing investigation in Deer Lake Saturday night.
Shortly before 9 p.m., RCMP issued a tweet advising the public of a significant police presence on Main Dam Road between the area of Garden Road and Canal Road in the community.
Deer Lake RCMP advised that there was no immediate concern for public safety, but requested area residents to remain in their homes and asked the public to avoid the area.
Just after 9:30 p.m., police confirmed one person was in custody.
A police presence will be ongoing in the area while RCMP will continue to investigate.
