The city of Mount Pearl has unveiled its plan for a new smart and fully accessible playground space.
The upgrades to St. David’s Avenue playground include the introduction of smart technology, improved lighting and two new gender-neutral washrooms.
The new playground will be built using an accessible rubber surface and elevated platforms that are accessible through a transfer station.
The city has selected the Biba Smart Park Add-on, an app that uses augmented reality games to inspire imaginative play while also tracking things like the number of users, weather conditions, and the condition of the equipment.
