A Stephenville Crossing man is dead following a single-vehicle crash near the community overnight.
The 53-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene while a passenger was transported to hospital in St. John’s with serious injuries.
The collision forced a lengthy closure of the highway near Mattis Point.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
