The Prime Minister’s Office has confirmed Justin Trudeau will pay a visit to the Governor General this morning.
It all but confirms recent rampant rumours of a pending federal election call.
Trudeau is due to arrive at 11:30 a.m. NL time and ask newly-installed Gov. Gen. Mary Simon to dissolve Parliament to make way for a 36-day campaign, the minimum by law.
Election Day would then be Sept. 20.
