A pro golfer from Gander captured the biggest win of his career on the weekend. Blair Bursey took home the top prize of $25,000 at the Sani Marc-Desjardins Canada Cup in Victoriaville, Quebec.
He came close at the Mackenzie Tour a couple of weeks ago, leading the field going into the final day before finishing fourth.
The 24-year-old finished 20 under par at the Canada Cup, but the golfers knew going into the tournament that scores would be low on a course they dub: “the racetrack.” Bursey says he hit the irons quite well and made some adjustments after the Mackenzie tournament.
He says it’s nice to get such an outcome, but it’s back to work as he heads to a pro-am today for a Thursday start, then it’s 10 weeks in a row where he’ll be playing every week.
