A growing number of candidates for Mount Pearl city council have come forward to express their dismay with a flyer being distributed to Mount Pearl homes with a list of candidates for whom to vote.

The flyers, which feature the city’s official logo, indicate that change is needed at city hall and identifies candidates seeking re-election as “ineffective.” It then suggests that residents of Mount Pearl vote for any candidate who is not an incumbent.

There is no immediate word on who is behind the flyers, but a number of named candidates have come forward to say they had nothing to do with them. Some candidates are condemning the negative tone of the pamphlets.
