It’s not the usual type of vessel typically seen on the St. John’s waterfront.
A submarine was turning heads in the downtown today.
HMCS Windsor recently participated in Exercise CUTLASS Fury, an annual Canadian-led multinational maritime exercise off the east coast.
The Department of National Defence says the submarine crew was in St. John’s for what’s being described as “some well-deserved rest and relaxation.”
DND says the participation of the submarine crew was a key component in achieving high-level tactical scenarios with the Royal Canadian Navy and allied ships.
