The parents of a 13-year-old child have been charged following a collision last month between an ATV and a vehicle in Clarke’s Beach.
RCMP were called to the scene on Glam Road around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 18th.
The child suffered minor injuries as a result of the collision.
RCMP have ticketed a parent of the child for allowing the operation of an ATV by a person who is underage.
Children 14 or 15 years of age can operate an ATV with engine size 95cc, but they have to be at least 16 years old to operate a larger machine.
There has been a rash of accidents in the past while in which off-road machines collided with on-road vehicles.
Lawyer Steve Marshall says parents of children involved in such accidents can end up in financial peril.
