A man who tried to disarm a police officer is behind bars today, awaiting a court appearance.
The RNC were called out to a residence in the centre city area just before 10:00 last night.
The 48-year-old man tried to flee, but was apprehended by an RNC officer just outside the residence.
He has been charged with assaulting and attempting to disarm a peace officer, as well as possession of stolen property.
He will be in court today.
