The province has recorded its eighth death due to COVID-19, with 25 new confirmed cases, and one new presumptive positive case.

A man in his 60’s in the Central Health region has passed away as a result of the virus, with three other people in hospital.

Among the 25 new confirmed cases reported today are three in the Eastern Health region and 22 in Central Health.

Among the 22 in Central Health, nine are under the age of 20.

One of the three cases in the Eastern Health region is under the age of 20.

There are 155 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, 135 of which are in the Central Health region.

There are 77 confirmed cases linked to the cluster in the Baie Verte region, and 50 confirmed cases linked to the cluster in the Twillingate / New World Island area.

The source of the two clusters is under investigation.
