A landmark in St. Mary’s Bay is no more.
Riverside Lounge in Mount Carmel burned to the ground overnight. Firefighters were called to the scene shortly after midnight, but the fire was already fully involved.
Mount Carmel Fire Chief David Parrott says firefighters managed to contain the fire, but the building was a complete loss. Some firefighters remained on the scene this morning dousing hot spots.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
