Nearly $60,000 dollars was raised today, as a result of the Lionel Kelland Hospice Radiothon broadcast on VOCM in Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor today.
Pledges announced during the radiothon totaled nearly $35,000 dollars, with an additional $25,000 dollar donation from the VOCM Cares Foundation.
The Lionel Kelland Hospice is the first residential hospice of its kind in the province.
Its mission is to improve the quality of life for people living with progressive illness and their families through holistic care, education and research.
