The Newfoundland and Labrador Liquor Corporation is on pace to deliver a record dividend to the provincial government for the current fiscal year.
The NLC released its financial results for the second quarter this week, reporting a six per cent increase over the previous year to date.
But the dividend paid to the government so far this year has been almost $117-million, an eight per cent increase over last year.
The NLC says it expects to deliver an end-of-fiscal-year dividend of $210-million, which would be the largest in the corporation’s history.
Meanwhile, cannabis sales are up almost 50 per cent so far this year over last.
The financial results come at a time when it’s believed the government is considering selling off and privatizing the NLC.
