The provincial government has amended motor vehicle regulations allowing Ukrainian drivers to exchange their driver’s licences for Newfoundland and Labrador ones.
Some Ukrainians had encountered high quotes when seeking vehicle insurance in Newfoundland and Labrador. The transfer of licences should allow them to get more reasonable quotes.
Ukraine newcomers 17 and older can have their Class 5 driver’s licences exchanged at any Motor Registration office if they carry a Ukrainian driver’s licence, and proof that their licence was not suspended, cancelled, revoked or expired for more than five years.
