The deadline has been extended to July as the restructuring of Canada Fluorspar’s mining operation in St. Lawrence continues to wind its way through the courts.
Canada Fluorspar shut down production and issued hundreds of layoffs in February when it filed for interim receivership.
Minister Andrew Parsons is expressing continued optimism as global demand for fluorspar remains high.
Parsons says the last he heard was that potential buyers were awaiting completion of a technical report on the property and operations.
He says potential buyers want to do their due diligence before submitting final offers.
