VOCM News has been recognized with another award and two nominations for broadcast excellence.
VOCM News won the top award in the Eastern Region RTDNA (Radio Television Digital News Association) RTDNA Breaking News category for our coverage of Hurricane Fiona on the morning the storm struck, wreaking havoc on Port aux Basques and the southwest coast.
VOCM News also has two more nominations—one in the News – Live Special Events category for our ongoing morning show coverage of the wildfires in central Newfoundland, and one in the Radio Newscast (Small/Medium Market) category for our VOCM News Day in Review from January 6 of 2022.
