250 delegates made up of government and business leaders from across Canada and the United States just wrapped up a major conference in St. John’s with a focus on the green and blue economies.
They discussed a broad range of topics designed to enhance trade and investment, promote business partnerships, and encourage technological and scientific exchanges between members.
Premier Andrew Furey says it’s clear that we’re in the middle of an energy transition, but that North America will still need oil for a long time. He says visiting Premiers and Governors were impressed with Newfoundland and Labrador’s natural resources and the opportunities which exist, especially with the greening of the economy.
He says the province is, and will continue to be a leader in the energy transition. “This is a win-win,” says Furey.
