Another $50,000 fine has been issued for a violation of the province’s fire ban.
Premier John Hogan today confirmed that a fine has been issued due to an illegal fire in the Gander Bay area.
It’s the latest in a number of fines issued since the province upped the penalty for illegal fires to a minimum of $50,000.
Two fines were imposed earlier this week, one against an individual and another against a coporation for violations of the forestry regulations, while three $50,000 fines were issued against a 20-year-old man accused of deliberately setting a series of fires in the capital city.
Caleb Boland-Pelkey is also charged with three counts of arson with disregard for human life.
