A groundbreaking ceremony will be held in Mount Pearl this afternoon to mark the location of the city’s latest affordable housing project.

Habitat for Humanity’s latest build will be located at 11 Glendale Avenue, made possible through a land exchange agreement between the city and Habitat for Humanity NL.

The organization’s former property at 117A Croucher Avenue was swapped with the municipality for a city-owned parcel of land on Glendale – a location that the city says is better suited for residential construction.

The groundbreaking is set for 2:00 this afternoon.
