Communities in Notre Dame Bay remain without power as the result of hurricane-force winds Monday night that knocked power out to some 22,000 households.
Crews were initially hampered by snow-covered roads and blizzard conditions, particularly in central Newfoundland and on the Bonavista Peninsula.
As of this morning, a number of communities including those on New World Island and Twillingate and in Notre Dame Bay from Comfort Cove to Birchy Bay and Point Leamington remain without power.
Newfoundland Power says crews are working to restore power and are urging continued patience.
