Transportation Critic Jamie Korab says the provincial government is taking a page from the former government’s playbook in issuing an RFP for another swing vessel for the ferry fleet.

The province is seeking a vessel with similar capacity to the Veteran or Legionnaire.

Jamie Korab says the previous government issued an Expression of Interest in July, with figures coming back that were pricey.

Korab says he’s pleased that government sees the need for more ferries, but says it will come at a cost.

His understanding is that there isn’t a lot available. He says the Liberals didn’t get a lot back from their EOI, and what they did get back was pricey. “It may be something we may have to look at building.”
