Three people from this province are among the latest to be inducted into the Order of Canada.
Governor General Mary Simon named 80 people to the Order yesterday.
The three are: Mark Dobbin of Portugal Cove-St. Philips, the founder of Killick Capital; Brendan Paddick of Grand Falls-Windsor, co-founder of the Dollar a Day Foundation and; Proton Rahman, a genomics expert at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador who transformed arthritis care in Canada.
Since its creation in 1967, more than 8,250 people from all sectors of society have been appointed to the Order. It is one of the country’s highest honours.
