The RNC is investigating the capital city’s first shooting of 2026, just an hour or so after the new year began.
Police were called following a disturbance at Buckmaster’s Rotary Park around 1:20 on New Year’s morning.
Officers found a 23-year-old man with a gunshot wound, who was taken to hospital for treatment.
His injury was not life-threatening.
RNC say there’s no information to suggest that the shooting was a random attack.
No charges have yet been laid.
