A 37-year-old man has been charged in connection with the theft of heavy-duty equipment from Clarenville last month.
RCMP say 37-year-old Grenville James Clarke was arrested by the RNC during an early morning traffic stop in the west end of St. John’s just after 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3rd.
Clarke faces three counts of theft over $5,000 and a charge of break and enter with intent.
He’s also facing six additional charges in relation to multiple vehicle and property theft investigations currently being carried out by the RNC.
They including three counts of vehicle theft -involving a cube van, a tractor and a bobcat – and three counts of theft over $5,000 in relation to the theft of copper cables, a trailer and snow removal equipment.
The RNC and RCMP are continuing their investigations and more charges and further arrests are possible.
