The Canadian Red Cross has released information related to its wildfire response in the province up to the end of November of 2025.
2025 was a devastating year for wildfires in Newfoundland and Labrador, with more than 7,400 residents affected by evacuations, including Musgrave Harbour, Martin Lake, Holyrood, Paradise, CBS and the Conception Bay North Shore.
The Canadian Red Cross distributed emergency financial assistance to more than 2,500 eligible evacuated households to help with immediate needs, while more than 150 households were supported in their recovery through personalized support. That included needs that were otherwise not met, planning the return home for residents and financial help to support gaps in insurance coverage.
Of the 4.5 million dollars in funds donated to the Canadians Red Cross, $3.71 million had been distributed to affected residents and communities as of the end of November 2025.
