Mother Nature is unleashing a mixed bag across parts of the island today and into tomorrow.
It’s a winter wonderland on the west coast with anywhere from 20 – 40 cm in the forecast, paired with winds gusting up to 120 km/h along the coast.
Those in central and the northeast coast are waking up to a fresh blanket of snow underfoot. Conditions will change to freezing rain and eventually rain throughout the day.

It’s going to rain on the Avalon this morning, but things will transition to snow this afternoon. Environment Canada has an orange wind warning out with peak gusts of up to 110 km/h this afternoon and overnight.
There’s a rainfall warning out for the Burin Peninsula to Burgeo with up to 35 mm expected and winds gusting up to 130 km/h.
The system is expected to move out tomorrow.
