NL Health Services has set up a dedicated phone line for people to check capacity for the new urgent care centre on Stavanger Drive.
The facility, which opened on Monday, has been overflowing with patients hoping to be seen, with the health authority noting 100 people received care on opening day.
Due to the high demand, a phone number has been set up for people to check the status of the facility.
People can call (709) 777-9111 and, if new patients cannot be seen, a voicemail will be updated to convey that information.
NLHS say people should call ahead before presenting at the centre.
While the centre is currently offering walk-in services only, people can book an appointment beginning next Tuesday.
More information will be provided on that process in the coming days.
