With huge demand for the services provided by the new Urgent Care Clinic in the city’s east end, many are wondering when the new facility in the west end of the metro region will open.

Construction on the new Urgent Care Clinic on Topsail Road has been finished for some time, but has yet to open to patients.

Megan Carey of NLHS says the health authority is busy recruiting staff for the facility and they’re working to get it open as soon as possible.

“We need to make sure that we have the nurse practitioners and physicians set up and ready to work before we open up another site.” She says once staff are in place they’ll notify the public on an opening date.
