RNC had to call in the canine unit to track down a driver who led them from CBS to Mount Pearl.
It all started around 9:00 last night when officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The car failed to stop and was later found abandoned in Mount Pearl with the driver nowhere to be found.
The canine was called in and led police right to the 35-year-old man behind the wheel. He was arrested and charged for assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, dangerous driving, flight from police and breach of probation.
A 45-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was also arrested and charged with flight from police, dangerous operation and breach of release order.
The two were held for court.
