A man charged with a double-murder on Aldershot Street last month appeared in court today.
Forty-one-year-old Matthew Delaney faces first- and second-degree murder charges in the stabbing deaths of two men, aged 38 and 53.
Their bodies were discovered in a home on Aldershot Street on December 1st, but their identities have not been released.
Court heard today that some of the Crown’s evidence is ready for pickup while the rest is in the works.
“This is early days,” said defence lawyer Ellen O’Gorman.
Delaney, who has a lengthy criminal record around his hometown of Stephenville, remains at HMP pending his next court date on Feb. 11th.
